This article will define field office staff vs. field staff access and how to manage each

Caregivers typically fall under the category of field staff. In the context of home care businesses, the common role structures include office staff and field. If there are employees who perform both administrative and caregiving duties, they should be classified as office staff.

Role Structure Overview

  • Office Staff: Employees who handle administrative tasks and do not provide direct care.
  • Field Staff: Employees who provide direct care services to clients.

This classification helps in organizing roles and responsibilities within home care agencies, ensuring that the required documentation and forms are appropriately assigned based on the role of the employee. As well as the level of access in eCaring.  Field staff will only have access to the eCaring Mobile App, while office staff have access to the tenant.  If a staff member needs access to both the tenant site and the mobile app complete the following steps:

In the Staff Details area of the Edit Profile, select Office under Group

Next, enter the Services Authorized; be sure to leave SYSSVC in this area

Entering additional services will allow access to the app as well.  For scheduling and payroll purposes, be sure to add in payroll rates for each service authorized.
