Manage Vacation and Sick Time Settings

Setting PTO and Sick Time rules:
The core settings of Vacation and Sick Time pay and accruals are found under System > Financial settings menu.
Scrolling down will bring you to Pay Sick Time and Pay Vacation Time settings.
Pay Sick Time Settings
Please read below for explanations of each Sick Time Setting
Calendar Start Date: This is the date that all staff will be eligible to begin accruing sick time.
Default Sick Pay Rate: If you have one sick pay rate paid to all staff, enter that rate here. Enter the number zero (0) if you want to pay the scheduled shift rate.
Accrued Hours: Determine how many hours are earned per hours worked. The example in the image shows that 1 hour of sick time will be earned per 20 hours worked.
Annual Max Allowed: This is the maximum amount of hours that can be accrued in a year. The year begins and ends based on the Calendar Start Date selected.
Rollover Policy: Set the number of hours that staff can rollover at the start of the new calendar year, determined by the calendar start date.
- Select from the Rollover Policy dropdown menu;
- Capped Rollover > Enter the amount of capped hours to be rolled over
- Full Rollover > The full amount of sick time accrued in the past year will rollover into the next calendar year
- No Rollover > All sick time accrued will be reset to zero at the start of the new calendar year

Calendar Start Date: This is the date that all staff will be eligible to begin accruing vacation time.
Default Vacation Pay Rate: If you have one vacation pay rate paid to all staff, enter that rate here. Enter the number zero (0) if you want to pay the scheduled shift rate (or their wage rate).
Accrued Hours: Determine how many hours are earned per hours worked. The example in the image shows that 2 hours of vacation time will be earned per 20 hours worked.
Annual Max Allowed: This is the maximum amount of hours that can be accrued in a year. The year begins and ends based on the Calendar Start Date selected.
