Updates and Enhancements to the eCaring Platform

💳 Billing & EDI Enhancements

We’ve expanded billing capabilities to support more complex payer requirements and improve claim accuracy.

  • New ability to generate multiple claims per client within a billing period based on authorizations.
  • Enhanced support for payer-specific EDI companion guides and claim formatting.
  • Improved handling of claim reference segments (including authorization numbers when required).
 

📍 EVV Improvements

We’ve made several updates to reduce EVV errors and improve data consistency.

  • Fixed issues with duplicate visit submissions and EVV reprocessing.
  • Improved handling of inactive clients and staff when syncing with EVV aggregators.
  • Resolved multiple EVV Monitor issues, including filtering and error visibility.
  • Improved handling of state-specific EVV responses (including Ohio).
 

📊 Reporting & Data Accuracy

We’ve enhanced reporting to improve accuracy, usability, and export capabilities.

  • Reports now exclude deleted client and staff records.
  • Improved Excel export formatting across "Reports" as well as "Verification" export.
  • Added new reporting fields, including masked SSN for clients and staff.
  • Expanded filtering options for Visit reports, including EVV-related filters: Clock-in/Out method, Task Completion %, Signature Status, and others.
  • Activity Reports Template improvements, including payor visibility and EVV method tracking.
 

📅 Scheduling & Workforce Management

Updates to scheduling help improve decision-making and prevent errors.

  • PTO balances are now visible when scheduling or canceling shifts, helping prevent overuse - this includes the calculation of "Pending" PTO (Scheduled, but not yet Paid visits).
  • Low-margin scheduling views now highlight upcoming shifts requiring attention. Available here: https://app.ecaring.com/v2/schedule -> "Low Margin"
  • Improved logic for applying staff pay rates based on effective dates.
  • New behavior when scheduling to select the "Primary" address by default.
 

🧾 Client & Documentation Improvements

  • Users can now attach multiple documents to "Doc Type" records and remove them as needed.
  • Expanded categories for Client and Staff Notes.
 

⚙️ Platform & Usability Improvements

  • New Bill Rate update functionality, when a rate is changed, the system will now process this in the background so you can continue with your other tasks. 
  • SMS messaging now includes character limits and warnings to prevent failed delivery.
  • Permissions have been simplified by removing legacy “Levels” in favor of role-based access.
  • Various UI and workflow improvements across the platform.

eCaring Staff v2 News and Updates

Following the initial release of the new eCaring Staff v2 app last week, we are happy to share that an update is now available for both iOS and Android devices which should be installed automatically for most users. This update includes support for multiple languages as well as "Dark Mode".

Once updated, the display language and "Dark Mode" will follow the device's settings but can be customized by the user in the menu.
